Diving Into Art

So this year we are launching an amazing new program in Bridgehampton, NY and in Lebanon, NJ, Diving Into Art. What is this all about?

Well, the concept is very similar to Rock Camp and Dance Intensive.

#1 - First and foremost, we want to create a fun and social environment where every student - whether school age or an adult - whether a total beginner or advanced student - is comfortable and making friends. Classes will be help outside, so there will be plenty of room to have social distancing while also creating community.

#2 -Instruction that is rooted in learning the fundamentals AND around the interests of every student.

We think that in order to break out of your comfort zone and surge forward in your skills, technique, and artistry, one must master the fundamentals. This is definitely a work in progress, but a powerful mindset that leads to great things. We ALSO believe that instruction should be based around the interests of the students as a starting a point.

So basically if you have a student who loves anime drawing, or sculpture, or photography, etc…our teachers will use THAT as a reference point to learn the fundamentals………..once that is coupled with passion and interest and enthusiasm…….well, you get serious growth.

#3 - We are not school! I mean this is summer after all! If anything, we consider ourselves kind of anti-school in that we have structure and a curriculum but we pride ourselves in being nimble in meeting the interests and personalities of our students.

On Friday, the last day of Diving Into Art students will have an outdoor exhibit in which students can show what they have been working on. This is totally optional for students. This will likely be called “A Work in Progress” Exhibit, so students students can demonstrate what they have been working on through the week.
